On the morning of March 26, 2018, Felipe J. Rodriguez, a resident of Corona, California, peacefully passed away in the comfort of his own home at the age of 84. He had his beloved wife of 56 years, Beatrice, at his bedside.
Felipe J. Rodriguez originated from Durango, Durango, Mexico, but later moved to California, where he worked for several years at Pacific Clay. He later retired and went on to continue his life’s passion; soccer. Felipe was also responsible for starting the youth soccer programs within his hometown, earning the nickname, “Maestro,” as he grew to become a highly respected coach among the community. Felipe did all of this, and more, while cheering on his favorite soccer team “America.”
Felipe was a loving and proud father of 5 children: Jose N. Rodriguez, Phillip Rodriguez, Maria Luisa Rodriguez (who is with the Lord), Luisa Orozco, & Elena M. Palomino. He is also survived by 9 Granddaughters, 2 Grandsons, & 4 Great-Grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018, with viewing beginning at 10AM at St. Edward Catholic Church 417 W. Grand Blvd., Corona, CA. Mass will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow immediately at Corona Sunnyslope Cemetery 1125 Rimpau Ave., Corona, CA.
