I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the Duarte and Dawis Families. I worked with Elaine at CIW for a very short time, yet that time was precious. She was kind and caring of others. These quality’s that she possessed, were shared with family, friends and strangers alike. Although the fight to remain on this earth with those she loved, often in the eyes of others was painful to watch, she fought. Enduring the unbearable suffering just to let us all know, to be her, was to be loved unconditionally. May Gods Love continue to guide Elaine’s Spirit. . She was a Believer and to this we say, “ Well Done Good and Faithful Servant”. End of Watch, yet not forgotten. Retired Officer J. King

I would like to send my deepest condolences to the family. I have known Elaine for many years as I had the privilege of being a few of her children’s teacher. Elaine was always willing to help in the classroom in whatever I asked her to do. Her love and caring for her kids was always so apparent. I will miss her sweet smile and kind heart. May she rest in peace.

My daughter (friend of Makimo’s at school) informed me today of Elaine’s passing. My heart is hurting for your family and I am so very sorry for your loss. Elaine was such an inspiration and great example to me. We spent hours and hours together from kindergarten on, helping in the classrooms together, and she was always so positive through her health trials. She was a light, always had a smile on her face, and was truly an amazing mother and caring friend. She was talented and put her whole heart into every project. She was such a beautiful person. She will be SO missed. We will be praying for your family, hoping you can find peace and comfort through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
